John Hughes

Falling in love with an era I wasn't old enough to appreciate and almost missed. 1980's. Man, the films! Whether they were cheesy or simply brilliant, there is just so much to love about that decade. John Hughes in particular. Hate her, or love her, Molly Ringwald was the perfect poster child for the teenage high school anxious prom queen. That and John Hughes is a genius. A GENIUS. Director of such classics as Sixteen Candles, Ferris Buellers Day Off , Weird Science, Pretty In Pink and possibly my favorite, The Breakfast Club , Hughes is the master creator of believable and yet surreal high school worlds filled to the brim with anxiety, raging hormones and emotion. I just love it. Its so me. The way he films, plays with stereotypes, his writing and filming is just wonderful.

And now I'm gushing.
